Over 15,000 people gather in Dataran Merdeka for Great Eastern Bubble Dash 2016

Yesterday (Sunday 23rd October) saw the 2nd leg of the Great Eastern Bubble Dash 2016 held at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.
From as early as 4.00am over 15,000 participants from all around Malaysia began to gather to enjoy the three different length runs available and most importantly show how much fun exercise can be.
The 21km half marathon was flagged off at 5.30am and was won in a time of 1:20:37 for the men and 1:34:45 for the women's Malaysian Opens categories. For the 12km race, winning times were 00.40.31 and 00.45.52 respectively.
The 5km untimed bubble dash was enjoyed by a huge crowd of over 11,000 people. With music, giveaways, Zumba and of-course lots and lots of bubbles, everyone had a great time.
At exactly 7.30 am the first batch of runners were flagged off in a blaze of colourful bubbles and foam. Runners then completed the 5km route at their own pace. Passing through 5 bubble zones on route, before returning to the race village for more giveaways and star performances including local Malaysian favourite Chelsea Ng.
